Can we recruit and successfully onboard 60 new people?
Last year, we welcomed 60 new colleagues aboard MultiSport. Juniors, seniors, managers, directors, sales professionals, event specialists…people from all across Bohemia and Moravia. You might be thinking that managing such a significant expansion without harming company culture is quite a challenge – and after a year of intensive recruitment and onboarding, we can only agree. Take a look behind the scenes to see how we won over our new MultiSport colleagues, how we’ve managed to preserve our company culture, and even enrich it with the positive elements our newcomers brought.
At MultiSport, we care about enjoying our work, feeling good at the office, and simply having a great time together. It’s essential to us that every team member knows their goals and understands how their work contributes to our overall company strategy. And since we want to remain the market leader in employee benefits, growth and expansion across the entire country are a must.
A major expansion – aimed primarily at significantly growing our (not only) sales team – kicked off last March. We were facing a huge challenge, naturally accompanied by many questions:
What will it be like when everyone’s here?
Will we be able to guide them through our processes without overburdening our long-term colleagues?
„It was quite a ride. Recruiting all those new team members was just the beginning. Effective onboarding, and the involvement of our leaders and entire teams, was absolutely crucial. By doubling the number of employees in our sales team, our existing leaders and specialists were really kept on their toes. Not only did they have to manage their own teams and targets, but they also helped with recruitment and onboarding for the newly formed teams,“
explains Managing Director Eva Loužecká.
We took a step-by-step approach. We met with representatives from all the teams affected by the expansion, created a plan, set out tasks, and then everyone got to work. Regular status meetings were an essential part of the process, allowing us to track progress in each phase.
We also temporarily reinforced our HR team with three new colleagues dedicated to recruitment. We defined all the new roles, launched hiring ads everywhere possible, conducted hundreds and hundreds of interviews, developed onboarding plans, expanded our car fleet, resolved seating for new hires, set up new offices, purchased hardware – and much more.
How did it all turn out?
We did it.
More than 60 new colleagues are now fully onboarded and operating independently within their teams.
And what about our culture? It’s even better.
Team-oriented, friendly, and open. Throughout the expansion, we focused heavily on hiring people who would be a natural cultural fit. We often prioritize personality and team chemistry over years of experience – after all, professional skills can always be developed, but team chemistry is harder to change.
“What I love most about the recruitment process is getting together with our newcomers for a beer. It’s a great way to find out, in a relaxed setting, how their first days have been and what they enjoy outside of work,” shares HR Coordinator Marie Vystydová.
We leave nothing to chance when it comes to building company culture. We actively encourage our people to meet across teams, especially outside work-related topics. That’s why we regularly organize various events: smaller and larger gatherings, pub quizzes, movie nights with sleepovers, spontaneous or more organized get-togethers, company-wide meetings, and teambuilding activities. Our latest teambuilding was a round of mini-golf, which everyone at MultiSport thoroughly enjoyed.

What do our employees say about MultiSport?
We regularly monitor employee satisfaction through internal surveys, which also help us validate our company values. In the latest survey, over 80% of us mentioned that the greatest benefit of our work is the joy we get from helping employees in Czech and Slovak companies get moving. That’s why it’s one of our core company values.
We’re passionate about developing a product that truly makes sense. The MultiSport card is one of the most popular employee benefits on the market, and we’re convinced that with a healthy dose of movement, life just gets better. That’s not just a slogan. According to our 2024 MultiSport Index survey “Czechs and Sport,” 80% of cardholders said their MultiSport card motivates them to exercise more often, and three quarters of users confirmed that the card helps them feel better and live a higher quality life. What more could we ask for?

Our people also highly appreciate team collaboration, support from colleagues, their managers’ approach, and the care they receive from the company.
Having a MultiSport card is great…
…but working at MultiSport is even better.
hat’s the tagline behind our employer branding campaign, which earned us the silver Recruitment Academy Award. In 2023 alone, the campaign attracted:
CVs
interviews
new MultiSport colleagues
Last year, we built on this success – resulting in sixty new colleagues “in das haus.”
As you might guess, the campaign alone wasn’t enough. What truly wins over the hearts of future MultiSporters is not just our recruitment team, but also our outstanding employee benefits, of which we’re genuinely proud. Our employees can enjoy up to seven weeks of paid leave per year, including wellness days, an extra day off for each year with the company, and special birthday leave. We believe that to bring energy and fresh ideas to work, you need time to rest and enjoy life – hobbies, friends, and family included.
4,000 hours of training, workshops, and coaching
We also take learning and development seriously. Every colleague has a personal development plan and pursues growth through our internal academies, external training, talent programs, and one-on-one mentoring and coaching. We attend a wide range of industry conferences – from marketing to health, sports, and sales skills. Over the past year, we’ve dedicated more than 4,000 hours to professional development.
Did you know that a quarter of our colleagues have moved up to a higher position in the last two years? For example, Sabina Ondrovičová started in recruitment, then moved to HR marketing, and eventually became an HR Business Partner, now helping to support the growth of our people. Or David Vacek, who started in sales and now leads one of our acquisition teams.
“Every MultiSport colleague receives their own personal development plan, and together we look for the best possible learning opportunities. Some will take a specialist course, attend an industry conference, or opt for individual coaching. Supporting each colleague’s strengths and helping them develop is very important to us,”
says HR Business Partner Sabina.
At MultiSport, we also organize Health Days, provide office breakfasts several times a week, and offer fresh fruit snacks to keep everyone’s vitamin intake up. Our benefits include a meal allowance and up to CZK 24,000 per year contributed to pension insurance. And the best part – every new employee receives a MultiSport card upon joining, plus the option to arrange discounted child and companion cards for their loved ones.
There’s a lot more we’d love to tell you.
If you’re interested in joining our team, check out our current job openings.
We look forward to meeting you!

Under the patronage of the President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil, we, together with other members of the Aktivní Česko Foundation, officially launched the nationwide campaign Aktivní září on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The goal of this campaign, as every year, is to highlight the importance and positive impact of sports and physical activities, which should be a natural part of everyone’s life. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Eurobarometer survey – Sport and Physical Activity (2022), 45% of the European Union population does not engage in any physical activity. Additionally, 44% of Europeans spend up to 5.5 hours a day sitting, which is detrimental to health. Similar findings were highlighted in our MultiSport Index: Češi a sport, which annually tracks the relationship between Czechs and sports.
Press Conference on Wheels in Valdštejnská Garden
The official event to kick off the campaign took place on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Valdštejnská Garden in Prague, where a unique press conference was held with the project’s ambassadors and key personalities supporting the initiative. In addition to Senate President Miloš Vystrčil, participants included the First Vice President of the Senate Jiří Drahoš, Vice President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce and President of the Czech Fitness Chamber Jana Havrdová, President of the National Sports Agency Ondřej Šebek, and the freshly crowned Olympic canoeing champion Josef Dostál.
During the press conference, not only did these figures tirelessly answer media questions, but they also cycled on spinning bikes or ran on treadmills. Their discussions emphasized the importance of promoting physical activity in society, as an active lifestyle is a crucial preventative measure against health issues and diseases, especially in older age.
Sports as a Political Priority
“It is essential that sports and physical activity become a political priority,” stated Jana Havrdová during the press conference. “It is not a great reflection on the Czech Republic that we need to organize events like Active September at all. Let’s do everything we can to ensure that physical activity becomes part of not just one month, but the entire year for everyone,” Senate President Miloš Vystrčil said during his more than half-hour-long run. The ambassadors also acknowledged the irreplaceable role of coaches in guiding children and youth towards sports.
After the press conference, a full-day program of group exercise classes, workshops, and other activities, organized with the help of nonprofit organizations such as the National Institute of Public Health, the Czech Sokol Organization, and the Czech Tourist Club, took place. Throughout the day, participants could also stop by the Aktivní Česko Foundation’s booth, where we happily provided a comprehensive body diagnosis using the InBody device.
Everyone Can Help Solve the Lack of Physical Activity in the Population
Until sports and physical activity become a sufficient political priority for our leaders, we can take responsibility for promoting their importance ourselves. As employers, you have several options.
1.
Download the practical WHO guide for employers.
2.
Motivate your employees to engage in sports by organizing joint training sessions, fitness classes at the workplace, or collective challenges like “Bike to Work.”
3.
Invest in the health and well-being of your employees by hosting a Health Day, which we would be happy to tailor for your company or business.
4.
Enable your employees to exercise regularly at discounted rates with the MultiSport card, giving them access to over 1,900 sports and wellness centers across the Czech Republic.
Healthy and satisfied employees, according to many studies, are happier, more resilient, perform better at work, and foster better relationships not only with colleagues but also with external clients and suppliers. Naturally, this leads to a reduction in absenteeism, accidents, staff turnover, and an increase in loyalty to the employer.
We’re here to help ensure your employees feel better, not just in September.

Pokud jsme tě zaujali, pošli svůj životopis a pár slov o sobě.
It’s been a while since a newspaper headline screamed at us, “MultiSport is getting more expensive, people will stop exercising!” We wiped the sweat from our brow and decided to counterattack, armed with bulletproof arguments and the personal experiences of our clients.
It must be said that for many years we kept the price of the card the same and sort of turned a blind eye to what was happening “out there”. Unfortunately, inflation and ever fatter utility bills and rents have not escaped the fitness & wellness sector. And so came the long-delayed increase in MultiSport prices and with it an understandable wave of questions from their users. Is it still worth it?
And because no question should go unanswered, we set out (probably for the first time ever) to write an article about what we and our long-time clients see as the value of MultiSport.
The MultiSport pays off and the exercise hasn’t stopped!
If I have a MultiSport, what am I actually paying for?
The MultiSport card is a unique product on the Czech market, which has one goal since its inception: To make you feel better. But the card is just the beginning. We are committed to bringing you new experiences and opportunities for activity and relaxation, so we are constantly expanding our partner network, writing articles in collaboration with experts, making videos or going to castles and castles with you in the summer.
MultiSport will arrange

1.
Entrance to the sport or relaxation centre
For every single entry to a gym, swimming pool or sauna, we send money to the partner venue, which thanks to us has a stable clientele and cash flow. We currently have more than 1,900 such places in our partner network. The most popular ones register tens to hundreds of thousands of entries per month with the MultiSport card.

2.
The possibility to choose something different every day
Every year, our MultiSport Index research shows that MultiSport card users not only play sports more often than the rest of the population, but also like to rotate between multiple activities. It’s trying different sports without having to go to the commitment of a membership that our clients praise the most. “What our employees appreciate most about Multisport is the wide range of activities and the freedom to join fitness centres without having to buy memberships or passes. The most used are the entrances to the gym, group exercise classes, but also relaxation in the wellness centers. Team building or meeting friends for bowling or laser games cannot be omitted either,” shared Linda Púšová, Junior HR Generalist from Kiwi.com.

3.
Health and better mood (not only) at work
For 83% of employees, well-being at work is as important as their salary. When employers invest in physical activity and wellness for their employees, it pays off not only in recruitment, but also in fewer sick days taken or overall higher productivity of individual teams.
“As the largest primary care provider in the country, we understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle and, in particular, the role that regular exercise plays in maintaining physical and mental health. We believe that employees who are healthy and happy are more productive and have a positive impact on the work environment. Thus, the MultiSport card is not just a benefit, but above all an investment in the health and well-being of our employees,” says Pavla Preissová from MOJE AMBULANCE a.s.
“We offer the Multisport card to our employees mainly because of work-life balance. By being more of an IT company, we wanted to provide employees with the possibility of various leisure activities that would focus on physical activity,” adds Linda Púšová from Kiwi.com.

4.
The possibility to use shared bikes
In addition to access to the selected sports venue, you can take advantage of up to two one-hour rides on shared Rekola or nextbike bikes every day with MultiSport. Not only is this another way for you to get some extra exercise into your day, but you’ll be contributing to cleaner air in the city.

5.
Unlimited access to
My MultiSport platform
With your MultiSport card, you also get unlimited access to our online platform My MultiSport, where you can get discounts from our partners, try various well-being apps for free or work out at home with one of our exercise videos.

With MultiSport you also have the opportunity to take advantage of free body diagnostics twice a year using the InBody device. In My MultiSport we have prepared a series of videos in cooperation with nutrition therapist Šárka Knížková, in which we show you how to read the data from InBody correctly and, most importantly, how to use it for a healthier life.
Is it worth it then?
Especially in larger cities, one-off entry fees have jumped by tens of percent in recent years. It’s not uncommon for one group class in Prague to cost 300 CZK or more, which can be a real barrier to incorporating movement into your life. The option of a membership or season pass is usually more cost-effective compared to one-off entries, but it is tied to one particular venue, which may not suit everyone.
In contrast, a MultiSport membership gives you the freedom to choose from a range of sports venues and if you use it regularly, it’s simple maths. “Employees are asking for the MultiSport card benefit themselves. It is used by keen sports people as well as those who don’t go on a regular basis. Employees appreciate using the card for swimming pools, especially in summer, when it pays not to disturb the card,” explains Eva Bláhová from IMOS Brno, a.s.
“I like variety and it suits me to change sports facilities and try new ones. Our employer contributes half of the price of the MultiSport card, which is really good money,” one of the respondents to the MultiSport Index 2023 survey told us. The employer’s contribution is another great way to make sport even more accessible and to support the health and satisfaction of employees. Half of our clients choose the route of so-called co-funding or even full funding of MultiSport, and we know from long-term experience that this is definitely a fair and sustainable route.
“As a company, we perceive that regular exercise increases the overall resistance of the body and has a positive effect on the immunity and health of our employees. For this reason, we contribute to the promotion of the health style of our employees, as the physical stress at work and in private life makes people feel less tired and have a more positive outlook on the world with regular exercise,” adds Petra Chybidziurova, Head of HR Working at Hyundai Transys Czech, s.r.o.

Do you also want
to feel better?
Ask your employer if they offer MultiSport as part of their employee benefits. If not, let us know and we’ll try to change it.

Did you know we also offer MultiSport for students?
It allows college students to take 4 visits to a selected sports venue, plus 4 rides on shared bikes, allowing them to spend their student years moving more.
Autumn has arrived accompanied by sunshine and record temperatures. Everyone experiences this season in their own way, but all of us with a MultiSport Card, we can make it even more enjoyable. A rich selection of activities in partner facilities, from gyms to wellness centers across the country, offers plenty of opportunities to overcome the increasingly shorter days. A trip with the family to a castle or aquapark can certainly bring joy. And if you don’t feel like going out, explore our video library on My MultiSport, where you can work out from the comfort of your home.
When the morning run in the park is no longer lit by the sun but by the streetlights, it may be time to look for a gym that you might have on your way to work. The comfort of a well-equipped gym is very favorable for maintaining a healthy physical condition. Solitary individuals as well as lovers of group strength trainings will certainly appreciate the many options offered by the MultiSport partner network.
If you want to do something for your immunity so you don’t spend the end of the year under a blanket, we recommend visiting some of our partner saunas and wellness centers. Your body will not only warm up and relax, but when following the right procedure, it will also gain the necessary strength to face the challenges of chilly weather.
However, when the sky clears and there are no clouds in sight, take the opportunity to go on a trip with MultiSport to one of our castles or chateaus. Such a hike to the top of a tower or a long guided tour can easily be considered as cardio. You will learn something new and you can also take your family with you.
More and more people are adding regular swimming to their routine. It is an ideal activity for working out the whole body and improving blood circulation. Just choose one of the pools from our map and head out as well. And if you’re one of those who seek water more for fun, slide down in the water park! You can also take your children with you if you like.
If you rather stay dry, try yoga for example. This ancient activity brings balance to the body and soul for many people around the world. And if you have any doubts about whether this workout is right for you, watch the videos from the First Lesson series, where Kuba from MultiSport advises on how to start. You will learn, among other things, that yoga is truly for everyone.
There are many videos to choose from on the My MultiSport platform. You can learn something interesting from them, like in the aforementioned First Lesson or even work out with one of the coaches. You can read interesting facts, tips for new activities or articles about healthy eating in the blog. However, the most popular section is the rewards section, where we regularly add various discounts. For example, now you can get your customized vitamins most advantageously, take tests for a better understanding of your body or enjoy a month of computer games for free.
At the same time, it is still possible to redeem existing rewards on My MultiSport, such as the 5% discount on the Aktin.cz e-shop. You will have better control over your mental health with an annual premium membership in the VOS Health app. And because fortune favors the prepared ones, we also have a discount on home, vehicle or health insurance with Pillow.
Don’t forget that even in autumn, with MultiSport, you can ride shared bikes from nextbike or Rekola, even if you’ve already had a workout that day. Because a bike ride through an autumn city, that’s a romance not easily beatable. And you’re also doing something for your body!

Every third active Czech person goes to the gym. Czechs are not the “January slackers.” Despite January resolutions, Czech sports facilities have the highest attendance rates in the first quarter in March. This stems from data from the MultiSport Benefit company, which analyzed the number of entries of its clients in the first quarter since 2018. This stems from data from the MultiSport Benefit company, which analyzed the number of entries of its clients in the first quarter since 2018. This is 14% more than on the “most active” day in January.
There is a belief in society that Czechs engage in sports the most during January, often due to New Year’s resolutions and an effort to compensate for Christmas and New Year’s feasting. However, the data from MultiSport Benefit company regarding the attendance of sports centers refutes this assumption.
Attendance at Sports Centers
“From our data mapping the attendance of nearly two thousands sports facilities in the first quarter of the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, it is clear that Czechs do not forget about sports after January. Thanks to our data, we can debunk the so-called “January slackers” effect. The highest attendance of sports facilities is recorded in March during the first quarter,“ says Miroslav Rech, CEO of the MultiSport Benefit company, on the results of the analysis.

On average, March attendance surpasses January’s by 7 percent. This indicates that more and more people are forming healthy and sustainable sports habits that they adhere to in the long run. Especially those who pay for membership in a specific sports facility or use the MultiSport Card.
“If people have a prepaid membership in a gym or pool or they use a benefit card, it motivates them to actually go and work out. On the other hand, if they’ve decided to work out at home, it’s easier for them to find an excuse to skip it today,” adds Rech.
Sports Year 2022 in Numbers
Last year, in the first quarter, the biggest number of Czechs went to work out on Monday, March 7th, when 31,857 people visited sports facilities. In contrast, on Saturday, January 29th, sports facilities recorded only 16,499 entries, which is only about a half of that. Even fewer Czechs worked out on January 1st, apart from the fatigue from New Year’s celebrations, this is also due to the closure of most sports facilities.
Overall, Czechs worked out most frequently on Mondays in 2022. The least on Saturdays, not on Sundays, which is generally considered a day of rest. Compared to Monday’s attendance at sports facilities, Saturday sees a quarter drop. Compared to 2020, when all sports facilities were closed from mid-March, interest in visiting sports facilities has slightly decreased. “People have not yet returned to their previously established routines after the Covid closure of sports facilities,” explains Miroslav Rech.
In the first quarter of the year, Czechs visit gyms the most. In 2022, they accounted for a total of 32% of entries. Pools and wellness centers were also popular, accounting for 15% of entries.

People also didn’t shy away from group activities. The third most popular are racquet sports and ball games (badminton, squash), accounting for 5% of the total number of entries. Aerobic group workouts (such as spinning, aerobics, or tabata) hold fourth place with 3.9%. “People don’t forget that sports are also a great opportunity to meet with friends and a form of socialization. They can see their friends and still engage in sports,” explains Miroslav Rech.
Yoga also maintains its popularity with a representation of 2%. According to data, Yoga was already at its peak popularity in 2020, with nearly 40% more people attending it than in the previous year. Since 2018, the popularity of combat sports has also increased by 35%.
New Year’s Resolutions? Yes, but in a Healthy Way and without Becoming a “January Slacker”.
New Year’s resolutions aiming to improve physical fitness and losing weight are still popular. New Year’s resolutions aiming to improve physical fitness and losing weight are still popular. In order to successfully fulfill resolutions, it is necessary to establish healthy habits and avoid drastic changes. “We must know what goals we want to achieve and why they are important to us. When we know the reason, building new habits will be easier,” advises psychologist Marek Katrňák.
Unhealthy habits and exaggerated goals can have the opposite effect than the desired one. It is important to set realistic and smaller, gradual goals. It is important to be careful so that our efforts do not turn against us. “It’s not an art to push yourself too hard during one workout and then be too tired for a week. I recommend starting with shorter and less intense workouts (with lighter weights), but maintaining the consistency. Don’t underestimate the post-workout stretching, sauna, whirlpool, steam, massage.” describes Petr Soukup, coach, physiotherapist and a former professional athlete. Data shows that Czechs prefer to visit wellness and regeneration facilities on Sundays.
A part of a comprehensive healthy lifestyle is also a healthy diet. Here again, many people with a good intention to improve their health can easily harm their bodies. “It’s much better to set realistic goals and incorporate all changes gradually,” concludes nutrition therapist Šárka Knížková.
