Can we recruit and successfully onboard 60 new people?
Last year, we welcomed 60 new colleagues aboard MultiSport. Juniors, seniors, managers, directors, sales professionals, event specialists…people from all across Bohemia and Moravia. You might be thinking that managing such a significant expansion without harming company culture is quite a challenge – and after a year of intensive recruitment and onboarding, we can only agree. Take a look behind the scenes to see how we won over our new MultiSport colleagues, how we’ve managed to preserve our company culture, and even enrich it with the positive elements our newcomers brought.
At MultiSport, we care about enjoying our work, feeling good at the office, and simply having a great time together. It’s essential to us that every team member knows their goals and understands how their work contributes to our overall company strategy. And since we want to remain the market leader in employee benefits, growth and expansion across the entire country are a must.
A major expansion – aimed primarily at significantly growing our (not only) sales team – kicked off last March. We were facing a huge challenge, naturally accompanied by many questions:
What will it be like when everyone’s here?
Will we be able to guide them through our processes without overburdening our long-term colleagues?
„It was quite a ride. Recruiting all those new team members was just the beginning. Effective onboarding, and the involvement of our leaders and entire teams, was absolutely crucial. By doubling the number of employees in our sales team, our existing leaders and specialists were really kept on their toes. Not only did they have to manage their own teams and targets, but they also helped with recruitment and onboarding for the newly formed teams,“
explains Managing Director Eva Loužecká.
We took a step-by-step approach. We met with representatives from all the teams affected by the expansion, created a plan, set out tasks, and then everyone got to work. Regular status meetings were an essential part of the process, allowing us to track progress in each phase.
We also temporarily reinforced our HR team with three new colleagues dedicated to recruitment. We defined all the new roles, launched hiring ads everywhere possible, conducted hundreds and hundreds of interviews, developed onboarding plans, expanded our car fleet, resolved seating for new hires, set up new offices, purchased hardware – and much more.
How did it all turn out?
We did it.
More than 60 new colleagues are now fully onboarded and operating independently within their teams.
And what about our culture? It’s even better.
Team-oriented, friendly, and open. Throughout the expansion, we focused heavily on hiring people who would be a natural cultural fit. We often prioritize personality and team chemistry over years of experience – after all, professional skills can always be developed, but team chemistry is harder to change.
“What I love most about the recruitment process is getting together with our newcomers for a beer. It’s a great way to find out, in a relaxed setting, how their first days have been and what they enjoy outside of work,” shares HR Coordinator Marie Vystydová.
We leave nothing to chance when it comes to building company culture. We actively encourage our people to meet across teams, especially outside work-related topics. That’s why we regularly organize various events: smaller and larger gatherings, pub quizzes, movie nights with sleepovers, spontaneous or more organized get-togethers, company-wide meetings, and teambuilding activities. Our latest teambuilding was a round of mini-golf, which everyone at MultiSport thoroughly enjoyed.

What do our employees say about MultiSport?
We regularly monitor employee satisfaction through internal surveys, which also help us validate our company values. In the latest survey, over 80% of us mentioned that the greatest benefit of our work is the joy we get from helping employees in Czech and Slovak companies get moving. That’s why it’s one of our core company values.
We’re passionate about developing a product that truly makes sense. The MultiSport card is one of the most popular employee benefits on the market, and we’re convinced that with a healthy dose of movement, life just gets better. That’s not just a slogan. According to our 2024 MultiSport Index survey “Czechs and Sport,” 80% of cardholders said their MultiSport card motivates them to exercise more often, and three quarters of users confirmed that the card helps them feel better and live a higher quality life. What more could we ask for?

Our people also highly appreciate team collaboration, support from colleagues, their managers’ approach, and the care they receive from the company.
Having a MultiSport card is great…
…but working at MultiSport is even better.
hat’s the tagline behind our employer branding campaign, which earned us the silver Recruitment Academy Award. In 2023 alone, the campaign attracted:
CVs
interviews
new MultiSport colleagues
Last year, we built on this success – resulting in sixty new colleagues “in das haus.”
As you might guess, the campaign alone wasn’t enough. What truly wins over the hearts of future MultiSporters is not just our recruitment team, but also our outstanding employee benefits, of which we’re genuinely proud. Our employees can enjoy up to seven weeks of paid leave per year, including wellness days, an extra day off for each year with the company, and special birthday leave. We believe that to bring energy and fresh ideas to work, you need time to rest and enjoy life – hobbies, friends, and family included.
4,000 hours of training, workshops, and coaching
We also take learning and development seriously. Every colleague has a personal development plan and pursues growth through our internal academies, external training, talent programs, and one-on-one mentoring and coaching. We attend a wide range of industry conferences – from marketing to health, sports, and sales skills. Over the past year, we’ve dedicated more than 4,000 hours to professional development.
Did you know that a quarter of our colleagues have moved up to a higher position in the last two years? For example, Sabina Ondrovičová started in recruitment, then moved to HR marketing, and eventually became an HR Business Partner, now helping to support the growth of our people. Or David Vacek, who started in sales and now leads one of our acquisition teams.
“Every MultiSport colleague receives their own personal development plan, and together we look for the best possible learning opportunities. Some will take a specialist course, attend an industry conference, or opt for individual coaching. Supporting each colleague’s strengths and helping them develop is very important to us,”
says HR Business Partner Sabina.
At MultiSport, we also organize Health Days, provide office breakfasts several times a week, and offer fresh fruit snacks to keep everyone’s vitamin intake up. Our benefits include a meal allowance and up to CZK 24,000 per year contributed to pension insurance. And the best part – every new employee receives a MultiSport card upon joining, plus the option to arrange discounted child and companion cards for their loved ones.
There’s a lot more we’d love to tell you.
